Colour Grading

Because we shot in Raw, the footage has come out almost Black & White.  However, it contains that much information about what we shot, it allows for great colour and grading control.

We will be grading our footage using DaVinci Resolve.  Screen Shot 2016-02-21 at 12.21.30.png

Ryan, who came out to shoot with us, has advised us to use this piece of Software as it was made for Raw footage.

I took a frame form one of our shots and just graded it in Nuke, just to see what it would look like.  I turned the saturation up and this was the outcome.  This however was done in Nuke, but using by using DaVinci, we will have a lot more control over the final grading.

What colour are we aiming for?

We have two main sources of inspiration for our final grade and they are the FedEx magical forrest piece and also the Hisense ULED trailer.  The use of colour and also light in these pieces have been used very well.  We where very lucky and got a very nice sunny day on the day of shooting. By Using DaVinci, it will allow us to achieve our goal of having a similar final look to these pieces.
